Transport Executive Job in Nigeria

Job Title: Transport Executive

 Opebi, Lagos

Employment Type: Full-time

Job Summary

  • Responsible for safe transportation of cement from the plants and /or depots to the customers’ delivery location according to documented process thereby providing exceptional customer service to our distributors frontline customers and other valued customers.
  • Efficient management of transporters and drivers with the objectives of achieving all transport related key performance indicators.

Health, Safety & Security:

  •  Drive adherence to Lafarge Africa’s Road Transport management Policy and procedures with the objective of driving zero road Traffic accident
  • Drive implementation of transporters audit in collaboration with the road safety team

Service Delivery and Transport Management:

  • Work with the transport manager on transport stratgey implementation
  • Coordinates all transport (Flatbed and bulk trucks) opération activities,
  • Work with Transporters’ mangers to ensure daily truck projections and truck availability as required
  • for plants and depots operations
  • Establish work schedules and truck planing procedures for transport operations with the view to ensure right number of trucks is available for operations
  • Regular engagement with internal (Commercial& Sales team), and external  stakeholders
  • (Transporters) with a view to ensuring seamless execution  and achèvement of key performance Indicators
  • As a Transport executive, you will be responsible for utilisation and monitoring of trucks both at the plants and depots
  • Single Point of contact(SPoC) for all transport/deliveries related issues
  • Monitoring transporters performance based on vehicle availablility, truck turn around, On-time delivery (OTD)

Logistics Cost:

  • Optimization and monitoring of strategy trucks deployment with the view to achieve required truck turn around

Reporting & Documentation and issues Resolution:

  • Responsible for preparing and submitting all the related reports in a timely manner.

Education & Experience

  • First Degree in relevant course
  • 2-3 years of experience in Supply Chain or logistics

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Good organizing and planning skills
  • Analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment as crucial.
