Job Title: Quality Control Officer

Location: Ikosi-Ketu, Lagos


Description 

  • The Quality Supervisor will be responsible for maintaining and ensuring the highest standards of quality in our garment production processes. Your role will involve overseeing quality control measures, conducting inspections, and implementing corrective actions to uphold the integrity and craftsmanship of our products.

Quality Control Oversight:

  • Develop and enforce quality control procedures and standards throughout the garment production process, from fabric cutting to garment finishing.
  • Conduct regular inspections of work-in-progress items and finished garments to identify defects, discrepancies, or non-conformities.
  • Collaborate with production managers and sewing personnel to address quality issues, implement corrective actions, and prevent the recurrence of defects.

Quality Assurance Procedures:

  • Establish and maintain quality assurance protocols and performance metrics to assess the quality and integrity of finished garments.
  • Implement quality assurance checks at key stages of production, including fabric inspection, pattern making, stitching, and finishing, to ensure compliance with specifications and standards.

Training and Development:

  • Provide training and guidance to sewing personnel on quality control processes, garment construction techniques, and industry standards.
  • Conduct regular quality awareness sessions and workshops to enhance the skills and knowledge of sewing staff and promote a culture of quality excellence.

Defect Analysis and Corrective Actions:

  • Investigate root causes of quality defects, production errors, or customer complaints related to garment quality, fit, or finish.
  • Analyze quality control data and inspection reports to identify trends, patterns, and areas for improvement, and implement corrective and preventive actions accordingly.
  • Documentation and Reporting:
  • Maintain accurate records of quality control activities, inspection findings, and corrective actions taken, and prepare reports or documentation as required.
  • Communicate quality control results, trends, and performance metrics to production managers, senior management, and other stakeholders to drive continuous improvement and ensure transparency.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Fashion Design or any other Social Sciences. Additional certifications or training in production management are desirable.
  • Proven experience in sewing and various aspects of fashion production, with a minimum of 3 years of experience in a managerial or supervisory role.
  • Strong knowledge of garment construction techniques, sewing machinery, and production processes within the fashion industry.
  • Proficiency in using production planning tools and productivity software to manage production operations and track performance metrics.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively lead and motivate a diverse team.
  • Analytical mindset and problem-solving abilities to identify production bottlenecks, analyze production data, and implement process improvements.
  • Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to respond to changing production requirements, customer demands, and market trends.
  • Applicants MUST know how to make wears
  • Proximity to IKOSI-KETU is a plus.

Salary

  • N80,000 monthly.
