Job Overview

  • The Senior Technical Manager - Public Health is to lead our public health initiatives and programs.
  • S/he will possess a deep understanding of public health principles, extensive experience managing complex health projects, and a proven track record of delivering impactful health outcomes.
  • This role will require strategic thinking, strong leadership abilities, research and report writing, and excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee program planning, and resource allocation to ensure efficient and effective delivery of public health programs and initiatives.
  • Ensure programs align with organizational goals, donor requirements, and regulatory standards.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to project teams, stakeholders, and partners on public health issues.
  • Conduct needs assessments, data analysis, and evidence synthesis to guide program strategies and interventions.
  • Support the New Business team with graphic design on the technical proposals and other relevant materials.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, donors, partners, and community organizations.
  • Represent Idmibok and its subsidiaries at national and international forums, conferences, and meetings to advocate for public health initiatives.
  • Provide technical assistance to enhance the capabilities of program teams and stakeholders.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of monitoring and evaluation frameworks to measure program performance and impact.
  • Collaborate with the IT and M&E teams to ensure data quality, integrity, and timely reporting to donors, stakeholders, and senior management.
  • Utilize M&E findings to inform program improvements, scale-up, and replication of successful models.
  • Contribute to the development and execution of the organization’s strategic plans and priorities.
  • Identify emerging public health challenges and opportunities for innovation and growth.
  • Lead proposal development and resource mobilization efforts to secure funding for public health programs.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, Health Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in public health program management, preferably in an international or cross-cultural context.
  • Strong technical knowledge in areas such as infectious diseases, maternal and child health, health systems strengthening, and health policy.
  • Proven experience managing large-scale health projects, including budget management, team leadership, and stakeholder coordination.
  • Proficiency in data analysis software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Proficiency in report writing and proposal development.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and effectively.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary and multicultural environment.
