 TAF Africa is an independent non-governmental/not-for profit organization originally established to promote health, socio-economic rights, well-being, and empowerment of persons with albinism. The organization has since evolved to become a focus organization that advocates for the recognition and respect of the rights, socio-economic and political inclusion of persons with disabilities and other vulnerable groups in Nigeria and the around the World. The foundation contributes to legislative and policy action that promotes the rights of PWDs, and effective mainstreaming of inclusion.

Job Title: Chief Operating Officer (COO)

Location: Central Business District, Abuja (FCT)

Job Purpose

  • The Chief Operating Officer (COO) will play a critical role in overseeing the organization’s operations, ensuring the implementation of efficient systems and processes to support the mission of empowering persons with disabilities. The COO will work closely with the CEO, board members, and other senior leadership to develop and execute strategic plans.

Responsibilities
Operational Leadership:

  • Oversee day-to-day operations to ensure the effective implementation of programs and services for persons with disabilities.
  • Attend Board Meetings and make meaningful contributions including presentation of operational reports approved by the CEO.
  • Reports to: CEO
  • Responsible for: All Staff

Strategic Planning:

  • Collaborate with the CEO and senior leadership team to develop and implement the organization’s strategic plan.

Financial Management:

  • Oversee budgeting, financial planning, and reporting to ensure financial sustainability and compliance.

Program Management:

  • Ensure that programs and services are delivered effectively and align with the organization’s mission and goals.

Team Leadership:

  • Lead and mentor staff, fostering a culture of inclusivity, collaboration, and professional development.

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including donors, government agencies, and partner organizations.

Compliance and Risk Management:

  • Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements and manage organizational risks.
  • Any other duties assigned by the CEO.

Requirements
(Knowledge, Skills, and Experience):

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
  • Proven experience in a senior management role, preferably in a non-profit or organization focused on persons with disabilities.
  • Strong understanding of the challenges and needs of persons with disabilities.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement strategic plans and manage complex projects.
  • Financial acumen and experience in managing budgets and financial operations.
  • Commitment to the mission and values of theorganization.

Salary
N500,000 per month
