Job Overview

  • We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Teacher Professional Development Officer to join our team.

  • This role involves providing technical support and capacity building to education officers, managing the implementation of teacher training projects, and overseeing the professional development of key education stakeholders.
  • The ideal candidate will have a strong background in education, experience with teacher training programs, and a passion for improving educational outcomes in vulnerable communities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical assistance to education officers to ensure effective delivery of teacher training projects.
  • Collaborate with the Teacher Professional Development Technical Lead to develop detailed work plans and oversee the implementation of educational activities.
  • Conduct regular field visits to monitor progress, address challenges, and offer support to education officers and staff.
  • Ensure accurate collection and delivery of monitoring data to the Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) team.
  • Support the professional growth of Education Officers, Learning Facilitators, mentor teachers, and other key stakeholders.
  • Monitor and review the progress of trained teachers and facilitators to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Aid in training and coaching activities, ensuring effective delivery and follow-up.
  • Work with the Teacher Professional Development Technical Lead to create and update training materials.
  • Assist in managing the delivery of training and development programs, ensuring they meet statutory requirements.
  • Adapt training programs as necessary to reflect changes and improvements in classroom practices.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the Teacher Professional Development Technical Lead.

Person Specification
Qualifications:

  • University Degree in Education, Social Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience implementing education, child protection, or similar activities.
  • Proven experience in delivering teacher training projects is strongly preferred.
  • Previous experience working with NGOs is strongly preferred.
  • Experience working with vulnerable communities is highly desirable.
