 Heartitudes Foundation is a charitable NGO that is domiciled in Owerri, Imo state. It is birthed out of a need to truly help humanity. The Heartitudes Foundation reaches out to help those who are truly in need of help, especially in the areas of health and medical care. It has achieved a lot in the areas of promoting and improving healthy living standards, footing the medical bills of those who need it and rehabilitating patients back into the larger society.

Position Overview

  • As the Proposal Development Specialist, you will play a key role in identifying funding opportunities, developing grant proposals, and securing funding from a variety of sources, including government agencies, foundations, and private donors.
  • You will work closely with program staff, senior leadership, and external partners to develop compelling proposals that align with our organizational priorities and funding guidelines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Research funding opportunities from government agencies, foundations, and other sources that align with our organizational priorities and programmatic areas.
  • Develop grant proposals, concept notes, and letters of inquiry in collaboration with program staff and senior leadership, ensuring alignment with funder requirements and guidelines.
  • Coordinate the proposal development process, including timeline management, content development, and review and editing of proposal drafts.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field (e.g., nonprofit management, public administration, international development).
  • 3-5 years of experience in grant writing, proposal development, or fundraising, preferably in the nonprofit sector.
  • Strong writing, editing, and communication skills, with the ability to distill complex information into clear and compelling narratives.
  • Demonstrated success in securing funding from government agencies, foundations, and/or private donors.
  • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of grantmaking processes, fundraising best practices, and donor cultivation strategies.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with grants management software (e.g., Salesforce, Grants.gov).
  • Commitment to our organization's mission and values, with a passion for driving positive social change.
