Job Title: Makeup Artistry and Nail Tech Tutor for Adolescents and Young Children

Location: Mushin, Lagos
Employment Type: Short-Term Hire



Duration: 3 months

Description 

  • We are seeking a skilled and passionate Makeup Artistry and Nail Tech Tutor to join our team, specializing in providing makeup education and guidance to adolescents and young children.
  • This role involves teaching basic makeup techniques, skincare routines, and promoting positive self-image and confidence in young learners.
  • The ideal candidate will have a strong background in makeup artistry, excellent communication skills, and a genuine interest in empowering young individuals through beauty education.

Responsibilities
Makeup Instruction:

  • Develop and deliver age-appropriate makeup lessons and workshops tailored to the needs and interests of adolescents and young children.
  • Teach basic makeup techniques, including skincare preparation, foundation application, eyeshadow blending, and lip color selection.
  • Demonstrate proper makeup tools and products, emphasizing safety, hygiene, and best practices.
  • Teach beneficiaries the basics of nail tech, including the use of gel coats, UV lights, artificial nails, pedicures, and manicures.

Skincare Education:

  • Educate students on the importance of skincare and proper skincare routines for different skin types and ages.
  • Discuss skincare concerns such as acne, dryness, and sun protection, providing guidance on suitable skincare products and treatments.

Personalized Consultations:

  • Conduct individual makeup consultations with students to assess their preferences, skin tone, and desired looks.
  • Provide personalized recommendations and tips to help students enhance their natural features and express their unique style through makeup.

Positive Self-Image and Confidence Building:

  • Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment where students feel comfortable exploring and experimenting with makeup.
  • Encourage self-expression, creativity, and confidence-building through makeup artistry, emphasizing inner beauty and self-acceptance.

Trend Awareness and Inspiration:

  • Stay updated on current makeup trends, techniques, and products to inspire and educate students.
  • Share makeup tutorials, beauty tips, and celebrity looks to spark creativity and enthusiasm among young learners.

Mentorship and Support:

  • Provide mentorship, encouragement, and constructive feedback to students, helping them develop their makeup skills and artistic abilities.
  • Serve as a positive role model and advocate for healthy beauty practices and self-care habits.

Qualifications

  • Certificate or formal education and training in makeup artistry or aesthetics from a recognized technical institution.
  • Excellent communication skills, especially when teaching adolescents and young people.

Competencies:

  • In-depth knowledge of makeup products, techniques, and application.
  • Practical experience in the makeup industry, either by working as a makeup artist or as an assistant to an established professional.
  • A strong understanding of current makeup trends, styles, and techniques.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage and connect with young persons.
  • Ability to design and deliver effective lessons to students.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with adolescents and young people.

Additional Requirements:

  • Willingness to undergo background checks and any necessary certifications related to working with children.
  • Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to accommodate class schedules and events.
